Trivial is a dessert usually consists of a plain or a sponge cake soaked in sherry, rum, or brandy and topped with a layer of jam or jelly, pudding and whipped cream. In South Africa it is usually enjoyed during the Christmas season but also anytime treat. We love this tasty recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 large swiss rolls or cakes
- 1 package of jelly / jello flavor of your choice
- 100 ml sweet or medium cherry, rum, brandy or other liquor.
- Your choice of fruit peeled and sliced (berries, bananas and peeches goes well)
- Custard
- chopped nuts or berries
- whipped cream
- grated chocolate
- Make jelly and allow to set.
- Make the custard and allow to cool.
- Slicing Swiss Roll (or sponge cake) and place on the bottom of a large glass bowl.
- Pour alcohol during swiss roll / cake
- Hewed set jelly and place on a cake in the bottom of the bowl
- Add fruit with custard concoction andpour more
- sprinkle nuts or fruit on
- Cover with whipped cream.
- Adorning the top rather with nuts and / or grated chocolate.
- Refrigerate and serve cold.
